There’s comfort in finding who we are. Our histories create our presents, and there’s a time when that’s all we need. We find our identities, our descriptions, and who we are. We are not quick to release them. We reject any critique of ourselves by saying “this is who I am”, only because it took so long to get here. If we want to move forward, then we have to let go of an identity that doesn’t serve us.
